ATMIX Introduces Greenmix: Low-Carbon Concrete Made with Heidelberg Materials' Innovative evoZero Cement

ATMIX is introducing a new generation of sustainable construction solutions through Greenmix, a low-carbon concrete produced using Heidelberg Materials' innovative evoZero cement - the world's first cement with near-zero net emissions. With this initiative, ATMIX is taking an important step toward the decarbonization of Bulgaria's construction sector, offering a solution that combines sustainability, high performance, reliability, and readiness for future European green building standards. Greenmix - ATMIX's Low-Carbon Concrete Greenmix was developed by ATMIX as a modern solution for construction projects that require a lower carbon footprint while maintaining high technical performance. The concrete is designed to provide: • high strength and durability • excellent performance characteristics • reduced CO₂ emissions • a sustainable solution for modern construction Greenmix is suitable for: • residential developments • industrial projects • infrastructure construction • sustainable and ESG-focused investments • green buildings and modern urban developments The product enables the delivery of projects with a lower carbon footprint without compromising quality, performance, or reliability. What Makes Greenmix Different? A key component in the production of Greenmix is evoZero, Heidelberg Materials' groundbreaking cement with near-zero net emissions. Traditional cement production is one of the largest sources of CO₂ emissions in the construction industry. To address this challenge, Heidelberg Materials has implemented Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) technology. During the production of evoZero, CO₂ is captured before it is released into the atmosphere. It is then compressed, transported, and permanently stored approximately 2,600 metres beneath the seabed in the North Sea. The technology has been implemented at Heidelberg Materials' plant in Brevik, Norway - the world's first industrial-scale facility capable of producing cement with near-zero net emissions. Thanks to evoZero, Greenmix significantly reduces the carbon footprint of concrete while maintaining the strength, durability, and technical performance required for modern construction projects. Real Results for Sustainable Construction The combination of evoZero and Greenmix delivers measurable results in reducing emissions across the construction value chain. The use of evoZero cement enables the avoidance of up to 55 tonnes of CO₂ emissions per hour during production. This is equivalent to: • hundreds of thousands of kilometres driven by passenger vehicles • thousands of trees absorbing CO₂ • a substantial reduction in the carbon footprint of buildings and infrastructure projects Sustainable Construction Starts with Materials With the introduction of Greenmix, ATMIX reinforces its commitment to innovation, sustainable technologies, and the future of construction. The company provides reliable concrete supply across Western and South-Central Bulgaria, ensuring: • consistent quality • efficient logistics • on-time delivery • modern solutions for sustainable construction ATMIX and Heidelberg Materials: A Partnership for the Future The collaboration between ATMIX and Heidelberg Materials demonstrates how innovation and sustainable technologies can be transformed into practical solutions for the construction industry. Together, Greenmix and evoZero represent a new generation of low-carbon construction materials that will play a key role in shaping more sustainable cities and supporting the transition to a greener future. Sustainable construction is no longer a vision for tomorrow - it is already a reality today.
